About
Nandi L. Fernandez is a portrait artist, illustrator, and storyteller. Every face she paints carries a story, not one that needs explaining or justifying, just one that deserves to be seen. She paints Black women in their full beauty because those images matter, and because she grew up wanting more of them.
Her practice spans digital portraiture and oil painting, and extends into children’s books, stories built for the children who grew up without enough of them. Her work has been featured in Forbes, the Imago Mundi collection, and publications alongside world leaders.
As the founder of Toto House, she is building a children’s content and IP platform rooted in African storytelling, where culture, imagination, and the children who deserve to see themselves at the centre of their own stories come first.
