About
Nandi L. Fernandez is a visual story teller, passionate about sharing African history and her feelings through sketching tools. Art is her way of contributing to the change we want to see in the world, because she believes that owning our narrative is the springboard to the future we desire.
Her current pieces pay tribute to women of African decent, who are constantly dealing the social injustice of sexism, racism and colorism. Fighting daily battles, hearing;
“ you don’t have good hair” or “you’re pretty for a dark skinned girl”, or “ You can't, because you’re a woman”
Because what we see matters, her prayer is that each art piece brings a smile to women of African descent as a validation of both our inner and outer beauty.
